The event is attended by the Officers and Shop Stewards of the Union representing the Verizon employees in Brooklyn. Yes, the trucks you see around town that say Verizon and the people who help you get information, put in your lines and get one call to another are all Union employees. This past summer they held a mobilization effort that won a five year contract. Each year, the golf outing gives other Brooklyn business's the opportunity to show their appreciation for the workers.
